No human had ever come this close. The mission was simple: approach the black hole, collect as much data as possible, and leave before its gravity became impossible to escape.

From a distance, it looked almost peaceful, a perfect circle carved into the stars. But with every kilometer, space itself began to twist. Light stretched. Time slowed. Reality bent around the darkness. Warnings echoed through his helmet. Maximum approach reached. Turn back. He ignored them. This was the closest anyone had ever been.

Streams of superheated plasma spiraled around the black hole like glowing rivers, brighter than entire suns. They danced across his visor, reflecting colors no human had ever witnessed. Without warning, a beam of blue plasma from the accretion disk slammed into his helmet. The visor shattered.

Liquid light burst through the cracks, flooding the inside of his helmet with an eerie blue glow. His instruments failed one by one as alarms echoed through the cockpit. He reached for the controls. Nothing responded. The pull of the black hole grew stronger. There was no turning back.

The astronaut drifted silently toward the event horizon. As the darkness swallowed the last of the stars, he took one final look at the universe he was leaving behind.

Then... He crossed. His transmission ended.
